GENERAL NOTES

He was raised on a farm near Blue Earth, Minnesota.

As a Minnesota legislator "he authored the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, advancing women's rights" (Star Tribune Obituary, September 24, 2023).

He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the United States House of Representatives in 1982.

His funeral will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Minneapolis, on October 14, 2023 at 11am. He will be buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Northfield, Minnesota.
